Got all the kit for your chosen sport, cycling, running, golf, skiing but need some prescription sports glasses
Oakley has released the new True Digital Oakley prescription lenses , all sunglasses in the Oakley prescription programme are now supplied with this lens.
Extreme-eyewear.co.uk is a leading supplier of prescription sunglasses, from classic prescription Ray Ban to the latest technically advanced prescription Oakley sunglasses.
High street opticians typically have a poor selection of sunglasses available in prescription, pushing you towards getting a normal frame with a tint. At extreme-eyewear we believe needing prescription glasses should not stop you wearing designer and wrap around sunglasses.
We have invested heavily in getting the right professional staff, dispensing opticians, who have the knowledge and skills required to produce prescription sunglasses to the highest standards.
We treat every prescription order uniquely in great detail, scientifically calculating the best prescription lenses for your chosen sunglasses. After the prescription sunglasses have been produced we check that the lenses sit inside the sunglasses correctly with out altering its natural shape, ensuring a good fit is maintained.
Once you’ve found the right sunglasses you will be left with several options for the prescription lenses as described below
- Solid Tint
- This is normally an 85% absorption tint (category 3), meaning the tint will only allow 15% of the sunlight through the lens. These are available in a variety of colours, including brown, grey, black and green.
- Graduated Tints
- As its name suggests these tints are graduated from a dark 85% absorption tint through to around 25% at the lowest part of the lenses. These are available in brown, and grey.
- Polarised
- These are supplied with an 85% absorption tint, plus an additional polarised filter. A standard tint reduces glare by limiting the amount of light that can pass through the prescription lens where as a polairsed filter eliminates the glare. Improving over all clarity and visual comfort, and eliminating reflections from reflective surfaces such as tarmac, water, and snow.
- Transitions
- (Also known as reactions and photochromic lenses) these lenses react to the sunlight, the brighter the sun the darker the lenses react, creating a great solution for all weather conditions. The main advantage is having the ability to use the glasses indoors as the lenses will be in their clear state. ‘Transitions’ is a trademark for the world leader in reactions lenses, producing the fastest reaction times. For this reason we ensure all orders placed with reaction lenses get genuine ‘Transitions’ lenses.
- Mirror coating
- This is an additional coating which can be applied to any lens. Its primary optical roll is to further reduce glare by adding a reflective surface to the front of the lenses. Its second (but probably most appealing) advantage is its cosmetic appearance. Available in Silver, Gold and Blue.
- UV Protection
- Normally added in the form of an additional coating which blocks 100% of the damaging UV radiation. Some manufacturers add a UV blocking agent to the raw lens material, namely being Oakley. All our prescription lenses come as standard with 100% UV protection.
