Many sports require the need for goggles including swimming, skiing, and even down Hill Mountain biking.
There are three main ways to correct your vision if you require prescription goggles.
Direct Glaze Prescription Goggles
This technique is most commonly used for prescription swimming goggles. Your prescription is fitted into an empty swimming goggle frame.
For skiers and active sports wearers there are a few goggle hybrids on the market, including Adidas Elevation ClimaCool, Adidas Terrex, and Rudy Project Guardyan.
Prescription Goggles with an Optical Insert
Most commonly used for skiers as full mask goggles are fitted with a one piece lens which is impossible to direct glaze.
An optical insert is fitted with your prescription and clips inside the goggle. As the insert has no contact with your face, the ski goggle keeps its shape and fit better than wearing goggles over prescription glasses. This method is also popular for mountain biking prescription goggles.
Over the Glass Goggles
An alternative to optical inserts and prescription goggles are 'Over the glass' goggles, most commonly used for skiing. These goggles have cut-outs in the foam allowing for your prescription glasses to sit underneath the goggles.
